United Conservatives have taken firm action to tackle human trafficking
Before the election, we put out a nine-point plan to prevent human trafficking, protect victims, and prosecute traffickers.
Our party believes strongly that we must stomp out this form of modern slavery that sadly still exists in Canada.
There's a myth that human trafficking is something that only happens in the developing world. The truth is that it’s right here in Alberta. We must take action to stomp out this modern slavery.

Our United Conservative team is committed to being leaders in the fight against human trafficking and we are delivering. Our plan focused on empowering victims and survivors, and that’s just what we are doing.

Our United Conservative government proudly passed the Protecting Survivors of Human Trafficking Act that allows victims to get back their personal property and the power to sue their traffickers in civil court for personal and financial losses without any time limit. It gives a new type of civil warrant that gives police the power to access a residence to search for, ehlp and remove a trafficking victim with their consent, with the power to remove child victims without their consent.
And on every February 22 moving forward, there will be a human trafficking awareness day.
Promises made. Promises kept.
